The lovely Claire of @theshabbychick, (aka queen of furniture transformations) recently applied her skills to her entire backyard.
By adding a Melwood Pool Cabana, and a pool to her backyard, Claire has transformed a bare patch of grass (‘dead space’) into a stylish poolside resort!
These are the results, and we’re in awe.

In one day, Claire’s backyard went from a bare patch of grass to this:
Claire chose the Melwood Mod Cabana No.18.
The Cabana measures 5.4m x 3.2m (not including deck).
This bestselling design is a great choice, as it gives plenty of space inside, without taking over the backyard.
Claire chose extra decking, cedar cladding and lots of additional doors & windows for her wood cabana.
She was also able to customise the door/window positions to maximise sunlight & warmth.
Melwood Cabanas are made to order, so you can choose the size & options, and where the doors & windows are located.
They’re made here in Sydney, so the leadtime is usually 4-6 weeks. Installation is usually complete in a day.
At the end of the installation day, the inside of the cabana is at ‘lock up stage’. (see below)
This is a blank canvas – ready for you to add as little or as much fitout as you like.
The cabanas are sturdy & built to the same quality as a house, so you are able to add any finishes inside, like you would in your home.
And over the next few weeks she transformed it to this!
The external cladding has been painted with Murobond Woodwash in Black and the doors were stained with a clear lacquer to bring out the natural wood tones.
