Melwood is our garden room range – studios, sheds, and cabanas – designed to add extra room to your home with a separate space in your backyard. Cedarspan is our rural and acreage range – larger barns, farm buildings, cabins, and country cottages. The two ranges suit different sites and needs, but they’re not rigid: plenty of Melwoods are built on rural blocks and acreage, and smaller Cedarspans suit some larger backyards. Greenspan buildings are available in a wide range of designs and sizes, from a compact 8m² to over 200m², and in a range of panel configurations, so there is nearly always an option to suit your needs. Our buildings are delivered as pre-built modular panels and components, ready for on-site installation to lock-up stage. Each handcrafted timber-framed wall panel comes pre-fitted with wall wrap, your preferred window placement, and your chosen exterior cladding. The roofing package includes roof trusses, gutters and downpipes, and pre-assembled panels with Colorbond® roof sheets and 50mm Anticon® blanket insulation pre-fitted. You’ll also receive your choice of doors and any add-on features such as decking, verandahs or porches, and unless you choose to build on a concrete slab, you’ll also receive a timber grid floor system with piers. From there, the building becomes your blank canvas, ready for the fit-out and finish that reflect your personal style and functional needs. The time it takes depends on the size, but it is quick. Our buildings are PreCrafted in our Sydney workshop, with all components delivered to site in modular form for fast installation. Melwood garden rooms typically take less than a day to install to lock-up stage, sometimes just a few hours. Our rural Cedarspan buildings can take several days, or up to a week or two for larger projects.

Every Greenspan building can be built with an elevated timber grid floor system on adjustable piers. This generally removes the need for extensive earthworks and concrete slabs. The adjustable piers adapt to your site’s natural contours, making installation possible even on challenging slopes. If you prefer a concrete slab or already have one, we can tailor your building design to suit.

We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Each customer has unique needs, style, and personality, which is why we offer extensive choice and flexibility with our buildings. Every design is just a starting point. From there, you shape the rest: cladding, colours, materials, the style, number and placement of windows and doors, and additions like decking, a verandah or a porch.

While we don’t offer turnkey packages – pre-set layouts can be limiting – we’ll assist you in developing a floor plan and guide you through the next steps. This gives you complete freedom to design the interior layout and space that suits you best and the flexibility to work with your builder, trades, or take a DIY approach.

Yes. Every Greenspan building is engineered and built with weather protection and durability front of mind, using materials specifically chosen for their performance in Australia’s harsh and varied climate. The walls are fully lined with permeable wall wrap and roofing is Colorbond® steel with 50mm Anticon insulation beneath it. Flashings, gutters and downpipes channel water away from the building and our precision PreCrafting process ensures every building is sealed securely to stay protected from rain, heat and harsh weather. Each is backed by a 10-year structural warranty, and there’s a 40-year guarantee on the treated timbers. Yes. In most bushfire-prone areas, outbuildings must sit at least 5m from any dwelling, including your house and neighbouring houses. If you need to place a building within 5m of a dwelling, or are building on a bushfire-rated site, we can upgrade materials and construction to meet the requirements for your BAL (Bushfire Attack Level) rating up to BAL-29, with some options available up to BAL-40.
