You won’t believe how little a space is needed for a garden office

A Home Office in the backyard is sounding more and more appealing to all of us who have had to work from home.

However, it can be hard to work out what size garden room you need, or how much will fit inside.

To help you picture this, we’ve curated a few of our favourite Melwood Large Garden Rooms, and listed the dimensions of each one, to show you exactly how much you can really fit inside a new garden building.

You won’t believe how little room you need to create a spacious home office in your backyard!

1. A Stylish Home Office in Mosman

This home office looks like the dream work from home space: light, bright interiors, a beautiful view and plenty of space! This is one of our most popular sizes; 3.2 x 5.4m, which provides ample space inside for one (or more) desks, without taking up too much of your backyard.

2. Claudia’s multi-purpose study + painting room

When you see how much has been fitted into this neat garden room, it’s hard to believe its just a 3.2 x 3.6m! Claudia has created the ultimate chill-out/painting/study area for her kids. With a modular sofa, an arm chair, lighting, desk + chair and an easel, there is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy!

3. A crisp, clean magazine-worthy study nook.

Crisp, clean and modern. This neat and tidy office is how we all wish our workspaces looked, right?

By sticking to the essentials, this clever Garden Room owner has made 3.2 x 3.6m into a very spacious & comfortable office space.

Adding greenery, artwork & occasional seating makes it that little bit more luxurious, and perfect for styling the home to sell. (This is a real estate listing photo).

4. A spacious art studio/home office

This combined art studio & home office provides plenty of space for sketching, painting, working or reading. With space for storage, a large desk and two easels, you won’t be feeling cramped in here!

This lucky owner now also has what all creatives crave: space to spread out your work, without having to pack it all away at the end of the day!

5. A long, narrow office ideal for multiple workspaces.

You may have seen this space in our blog last week on Matt’s Garden Room. This measures 2.6m x 7.2m – a long and narrow design that is perfect for down the side of a house, or at the back of a wide backyard like Matt’s.

Having this extra length means that you can have different spaces set up for working + recreation inside the building – ideal for a garden room shared by a large family.
