When it comes to choosing colours and finishes, there’s nothing like some inspirational pictures to get you started!
This Melwood garden room is the Workshop 3254 (5.4m x 3.2m), and features cedar cladding, double glass doors with sidelights and custom end doors.
After installation, the clients arranged painting and fitout to create this elegant space for their family to enjoy.
Here we explore the choices made in creating this classic, stylish space, and show you how to recreate the look yourself.
Paint Colours
This very popular colour is Dulux Shale Grey. A fabulous combination with the white doors and windows, and Woodland grey Colorbond roof.
Wall Lining
Wall lining panels have been used inside to create a Hamptons vibe, and this is complemented with a gorgeous blue and white rug.
These wall panels are a great alternative to traditional gyprock or plasterboard. They’re quick & easy to install, and can be done as a DIY project.

Flooring
The tongue and groove ply floor that is supplied with Melwood Garden Room has been simply stained, to protect the wood and bring out the stunning features of this material.
This is a very low-cost and practical floor solution, which can easily be a DIY project, saving the time and expense of hiring flooring professionals.
Furniture
Classic Louis wingback lounges in cream with a mahogany frame provide comfortable and stylish seating, and we love the chic vintage wooden suitcase used for a TV base.
TIP: opt for cream or white furniture to make the space appear larger.
