Taking a look through the Archives at our Head Office recently, we came across a fascinating #melwoodartstudio from the early 90’s.
It was the art studio we created for Renowned Australian Artist Keith Looby! #honoured
Keith, who won the Archibald Prize in 1984 for his portrait of Max Gillies, is famous for his multi-layered painting style, which creates a very heavy and detailed ‘3d’ painting.
Keith’s studio is the Melwood Verandah No.12– measuring 3.6 x 4.5m including verandah.
It features Colorbond roof, gutters & downpipes in Pale Eucalypt and premium cedar cladding, both of which are still available today.
Like many artists, Keith chose to leave the inside of his studio unlined.
This is also handy if your studio ever needs to be relocated.
An unlined Melwood studio can easily be disassembled into panels, driven to a new location and assembled again by our qualified in-house teams.

We feel honoured to have created many art studios across Sydney & surrounds for talented artists such as Keith!
Many artists report that their work has improved since having a dedicated studio on their property.
