With the NSW Government announcing their generous HomeBuilder Grant, there has been a flurry of activity in the NSW Construction Industry.
But what exactly does the HomeBuilder Grant involve, and can you use it towards something like a prefab Barn-style home?
Short answer, yes.
We’re here to explain the HomeBuilder grant for you, and how it could help you convert a Cedarspan Barn into the Barnstyle home of your dreams.
What is the HomeBuilder Grant?
The Revenue NSW website states that “HomeBuilder will provide eligible owner-occupiers (including first home buyers) with a grant of $25,000 to build a new home or substantially renovate an existing home where the contract is signed between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020. Construction must commence within three months of the contract date.”
There are a few requirements to be able to claim the grant, such as the value of your property, and your personal income, however for most Australians, this will be a welcome cashboost to help them kickstart their dream home project.
Do other grants still apply?
Yes. If you are eligible, alongside the HomeBuilder Grant you may also be able to receive the First Home Owner Grant, the First Home Loan Deposit Scheme or the First Home Super Saver Scheme.
How does this work with a Cedarspan Barn?
If you love spacious, open-plan living, and soaring pitched ceilings, you’ll love living in a Cedarspan home. With 3m high walls and 5m pitched ceilings, there’s a level of class & quality that you don’t get anywhere else.
If you are building on a vacant block of land or replacing your existing home with a new one, you can have your Cedarspan Barn engineered to meet dwelling regulations in your area, manufactured in our factory in a few weeks, and delivered to your property, ready for quick assembly.
Because of our specially-engineered prefabricated panel system, Cedarspan barns are very quick to assemble on site. Most of the work is completed in our Sydney factory and then delivered to your property in sections. This means that you save a lot of the typical costs associated with traditional building, but, most significantly – time! A Cedarspan building can be assembled in as little as one week – something no traditional builder can match.
