Ray purchased a Melwood Verandah 20 measuring 3.2 x 6.3m with pre-primed weatherboard cladding painted white combined with board and batten cladding to the rear.  

Complete with white painted posts, a Colorbond® roof in “Manor Red” and stained timber decking, Ray has endless reasons to love his so-called ‘tiny house’. 

“We all love the Melwood house so much, reasons are too many to list.” 

“It blends perfectly with our main house, garden and surroundings.” 

“It is a multi-functional family oasis and when the door is opened, sitting inside looking out, it gives me a feeling like sitting in those traditional Japanese houses looking out at a Japanese garden.”

When utilised as a home office, Ray enjoys working away in peace at his sit/stand desk with plenty of natural light beaming through. 

As a general family outdoor living room, which is the most visited room in the house, the Melwood brings hours of entertainment as a home theatre. 

“A whole wall was painted with specific home theatre paint and used as a movie screen. It’s giving us a 150 inch screen with 4k movie sharpness in a tidy set-up – all audio cables were carefully laid under the gyprock panels.” 

And while the common sentiment shared among Melwood customers is the versatility of the space, every family still has their favourites. 

“The super comfy couch we have on the deck is everyone’s favourite spot. It’s facing west so sitting there watching the sunset with a cup of coffee to finish the day is an unbelievable experience.”
