Jenny worked full-time for over 40 years in an industry that she enjoyed but was not her passion.
Whilst working full-time, she would spend her free time on her true passion, pottery.
Her existing backyard pottery shed was small and didn’t have power or water running to it. So, a Melwood cabana turned a passion into a profession and a hobby dream into reality.

A long-term dream
For over 20 years, Jenny dreamed of one day having a pottery shed big enough to accommodate all her needs.
Jenny tells us that although she looked into putting a bigger pottery shed in her backyard over 20 years ago, she believed it would cost her double what she could afford.
Due to the perceived expense she thought that she would never be able to fulfil her dream.
It was only after discovering our Melwood range that she realised having a proper pottery shed was more than just a dream.
It could be easily achieved and well within her budget.
Within a few weeks of this realisation, Jenny had her pottery shed delivered and was able to start fulfilling her dream!
“My experience with Melwood was great,” Jenny tells us, “From the time I went out there [the display centre] and was shown everything I could do. I thought that this was amazing”.
Pursuing pottery full-time
Jenny’s cabana hasn’t just served the purpose of beginning her journey to becoming a full-time artist.
She also enjoys social occasions where her friends come over to her house to have a pottery session and finish it off with a glass of wine on the porch of her cabana.
Jenny has now been able to retire from her full-time job to pursue her creative passion.
Her work has already been accepted into a couple of exhibitions and she is looking to study the ‘Bachelor of Fine Arts’ next year. With plans to teach pottery to children and finish her Advanced Diploma in Ceramics, Jenny can now focus on her beloved passion.
By adding a Melwood garden room to her property, Jenny has been able to turn her hobby into a profession and her lifelong dream into reality.
